Working at
Fiza Care

The roles we hire, what the process involves, and what to expect once you are on the schedule.

Fiza Care LLC

Fiza Care LLC is an Ohio-certified provider of home and community-based services across Central Ohio. Our caregivers deliver homemaker/personal care, shared living, respite care, non-medical transportation and in-home support in people’s own homes.

This guide is written for people considering applying. It is deliberately specific about the parts of the job that are hard as well as the parts that are good, because the wrong match wastes your time and the client’s.

01

Roles we are hiring

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Hands-on personal care in the client’s home. Current Ohio certification in good standing required.

State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

The same core work as a CNA under Ohio’s state testing route. Current registry listing required.

Home Health Aide

Personal care, homemaker tasks, meal preparation and companionship. Training provided where certification is not yet held.

Independent Provider

For those already certified by DODD as independent providers, or working towards it. We coordinate assignments and scheduling.

Nurses (RN / LPN)

Assessment, care plan oversight and supervision of caregivers in the field. Current unencumbered Ohio licence required.

02

What the work actually involves

A typical shift
  • Arrive on time, at the client’s home, alone
  • Work through the tasks the care plan authorises
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting and mobility
  • Prepare meals; light housekeeping and laundry
  • Prompt medications and note anything missed
  • Company and conversation — part of the job, not a break from it
  • Document what was delivered before you leave
The honest parts
  • You work unsupervised and must be able to judge when to call in
  • Physical work: transfers, bending, being on your feet
  • Personal care is intimate work and requires composure
  • Some clients are frightened, confused or resistant
  • Documentation is not optional — it is how the service gets paid
  • Reliability matters more than anything else. A no-show leaves someone without care

The hiring process

1
Application

Online, about five minutes. Attach a resume if you have one; it is not required.

2
Phone screen

A short call about availability, transportation and the kind of work you want. We aim to make contact within two business days.

3
Interview

In person or by video. Expect scenario questions: what would you do if you arrived and the client had fallen, or refused care.

4
Screening and verification

Background checks, registry and exclusion-list checks, references, and verification of any certification or licence. Required by the State of Ohio, not optional.

5
Orientation and training

Paid. Covers client rights, incident reporting, safe transfers, infection control and documentation.

6
First assignment

You are introduced to the client rather than sent cold, and you get the care plan before the first shift.

04

What we ask of you

18 or over, legally able to work in the US
Reliable transportation to client homes
Clear the required background screening
A working phone we can reach you on
Read and write well enough to document a shift
Turn up on the shifts you accept
Keep client information confidential
Report incidents and concerns immediately
05

What you get from us

Competitive pay

Set by certification, shift type and county. Discussed openly at interview, not after.

Flexible scheduling

Part time, full time, overnights and weekend-only. Tell us your constraints up front.

Paid training

Orientation and required in-service training on the clock, not in your own time.

Mileage reimbursement

For travel between assignments and client transportation runs.

A coordinator who answers

A named contact and a live on-call line, not a voicemail box.

Consistent clients

We protect continuity where we can. It is better for the client and better for you.

If you are new to caregiving

Companion and homemaker work does not require certification, and it is where most people start. What we look for instead:

  • Patience under repetition — the same question asked five times
  • Composure when something goes wrong
  • Willingness to do unglamorous work well
  • Respect for someone else’s home and routine

Experience caring for a family member counts. Say so in your application.
